Teresa Giudice of Real Housewives of New Jersey
I admit it, I'm addicted to Bravo's extremely popular and successful franchise, "The Real Housewives". They've got shows now in Orange County (the original Housewives), NYC, Atlanta, New Jersey and now D.C. (which premiered with lukewarm reviews on August 5th).
I can stay silent on this subject no longer! I am completely disgusted by this woman's ridiculous spending habits and sense of entitlement. She and her husband filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in October 2009, claiming $11M in debt and only $79,000 in yearly income. Recently she went on a $60,000 spending spree!
Here's the link to my opinion piece on Teresa & Joe Giudice and their wild spending habits! Please feel free to tell me what YOU think!

Hot Italian giardiniera recipe
Make your own giardiniera for your Italian shredded pork sandwiches. It's not complicated, nor expensive, and it really does taste better than store bought. It will last months in the fridge and it can be canned as well. Try a single batch, see if you like it, then next time double or triple the batch.

Use some of that slow cooker shredded pork to make these delicious sanwiches. These are great on a cool night with a bowl of minestrone and a salad.

Slow cooker pork shoulder
Starting to plan out the Fall an Winter menus. Slow cooker pork shoulder is so easy to make, the crockpot does all the work for you. And you can get as many as 6 meals for 4 people out of a 10 pound pork shoulder, even once you've removed fat and bone.

Frosted pumpkin squares recipe
The end of summer is upon us, Autumn will soon be in the air. You can use fresh pumpkin puree in this recipe if you have it. This makes a wonderful dessert, it's very dense. It's also a fantastic dessert to take to a potluck dinner or a Fall dinner pary. It's easy to make and you can use egg substitute for all or some of the eggs in this recipe. I use applesauce in place of the oil, and it doesn't change the texture at all. Enjoy!

Beef stroganoff recipe: Food 911: Tastes of Russia with Tyler Florence
Beef stroganoff recipe: Food 911: Tastes of Russia with Tyler Florence - I've posted the original recipe, my review and my changes.
I made this with the beet borscht recipe for Sunday dinner and it was a huge, huge hit! It was the first time I had ever made stroganoff! I've tried a lot of frugal stroganoff recipes (ground beef with mushroom soup), but never from-scratch real stroganoff. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that this wasn't that expensive to make and it was impressive. Everyone loved it. Hubby and I are having the leftovers for lunch today.

Roasted beet borscht recipe from Tyler Florence Food 911
We tried this recipe for Sunday dinner this week and it got rave reviews. Roasted beet borscht recipe from Tyler Florence Food 911
I do not like beets and I LOVED this recipe. I have posted the original recipe from Tyler Florence, as well as my review and the changes I made.
This is not an expensive recipe to make. You can find fresh beets year round at your local farmers market and in the supermarket. A little honey, a little red wine vinegar and other ingredients. Serve it hot or cold with sour cream, grated Granny Smith apple and fresh dill.
